Student campus proposals positively received

Plans for a new student campus at the heart of Speirs Locks have met with a positive response ahead of the formal planning application being lodged.

Developers Charter Properties and key members of the project team held a public consultation meeting on Thursday 11th October 2012 to showcase the proposals and allow the local community to have their say.

Amongst those attending were Patricia Ferguson MSP for Glasgow Maryhill & Springburn, Councillor Chris Kelly for Ward 16–Canal, and representatives of the local residents association and Community Council.

Recognition was given to the positive impact that the investment will have on the ongoing regeneration of the area, along with acknowledgement of the considerable undersupply of good quality student accommodation across Glasgow as a whole.

Thanks go to all those who took the time to attend and offer their comments.
